Dementia Friendly Outdoor Spaces.

Disruption Awards 2021

Paths for All is an organisation with a proven track record in the development of best practice guidance documents for those involved within the outdoor access sector.

The idea of this project was to develop a dementia friendly area on their national path demonstration site at Oatridge Agricultural College in West Lothian, Scotland.

This will be used to illustrate how we can make our outdoor spaces more inclusive for people living with dementia including students at the college, outdoor access professionals and community path volunteers.

The new area will act as the stimulus for an educational launch event, an on-line resource and a lasting legacy of their project.

The Trust was delighted to support Paths for All who also received support from the Life Changes Trust.
